Everyone has aspirations, desires, and plans that they hope to achieve. Some may want to pursue higher education and enter professions, while others dream of exploring the world and some desire to start their own business. These goals are admirable, but it is crucial to ask ourselves a crucial question: Is Jesus at the center of each one of them? We may work towards our ambitions and aspirations, but are we prioritizing God in every aspect of our lives?
I believe that now more than ever, many in my generation yearn for various things without mentioning God in their pursuits. My Pastor often emphasizes the importance of not only setting earthly goals and dreams but also establishing spiritual goals as Christians. We should not only yearn for worldly success but also aspire to achieve spiritual goals that will enrich our relationship with God.
The ultimate goal for every Christian is to fulfill God’s will (His purpose) in their lives and to attain the crown of life. It is not wrong to have earthly aspirations, but it is crucial to entrust them to God and seek His guidance. Additionally, we must incorporate spiritual goals into our lives to strengthen our bond with Him.

What Are Spiritual Goals?
Spiritual goals encompass anything that aligns with the ways of the Lord and aids in deepening your faith and relationship with Him. They are intended to lead you towards fulfilling His purpose for your life. Some examples of spiritual goals include:

  1. Acting upon the desires that God has placed in your heart.
  2. Cultivating the talents that God has blessed you with (e.g., drawing, singing, writing, vlogging).
  3. Engaging in devotionals and reflecting on a chapter of the Bible or a biblical narrative.
  4. Committing to reading the entire Bible within a year.
  5. Setting aside specific time for prayer and compiling a list of intentions for prayer.
  6. Forming a group to study the Bible with close friends at a coffee shop, park, beach.
  7. Creating a list of outreach ideas/activities to share the message of Christ with others.

There are numerous ways to establish spiritual goals that will benefit your spiritual growth and relationship with God. The aforementioned examples are just a few suggestions, but you know best what resonates with your heart and what will aid in your spiritual development.
I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on all your aspirations, both personal and spiritual. Write them down and present them to God in prayer, trusting that He will guide and direct you towards achieving them. Remember, fulfilling spiritual goals not only enriches your life on earth but also holds eternal significance in God’s eyes. Strive to prioritize God in all your aspirations and witness His miraculous help in achieving them beyond your expectations.
